RRB JE Selection Process 2026 में मुख्य रूप से CBT-I, CBT-II, Document Verification और Medical Examination शामिल हैं। Railway Recruitment Boards के CEN No. 04/2026 में recruitment process के यही चार official stages दिए गए हैं।
इन चारों stages की भूमिका अलग है। CBT-I screening और CBT-II shortlisting के लिए है, जबकि CBT-II selection का मुख्य merit stage है। इसके बाद CBT-II marks/merit और candidate options के आधार पर Document Verification के लिए shortlisting होती है। Final empanelment के लिए DV और prescribed Medical Examination successfully complete करना जरूरी है।

RRB JE Selection Process Flow 2026
CBT-I → CBT-II → Document Verification → Medical Examination → Empanelment → Railway/Unit Allocation → Appointment Process
CBT-I के marks final merit का direct basis नहीं हैं। CBT-I के normalized score का उपयोग CBT-II के लिए candidates को shortlist करने में होता है। CBT-II के बाद आगे की merit और DV shortlisting तय होती है।
Stage 1: RRB JE CBT-I
RRB JE recruitment का पहला stage 1st Stage Computer Based Test यानी CBT-I है। यह CEN में notified सभी posts के लिए common screening examination है।

CBT-I में subject-wise questions, marks और duration की detailed जानकारी के लिए RRB JE Exam Pattern देखें।
CBT-I में 100 questions और 100 marks होते हैं। Normal candidates के लिए duration 90 minutes है। Notification CBT-I को screening nature का बताता है और इसके normalized score को CBT-II shortlisting के लिए इस्तेमाल करता है।
प्रत्येक गलत answer पर allotted marks का 1/3 हिस्सा deduct किया जाता है।
CBT-II के लिए Shortlisting कैसे होगी?
CBT-II के लिए shortlisting CBT-I के normalized marks और merit के आधार पर होती है।
Official rule के अनुसार सामान्य रूप से संबंधित RRB की community-wise total vacancies के 15 गुना candidates CBT-II के लिए shortlist किए जाते हैं। Railways जरूरत के अनुसार इस limit को बढ़ा या घटा सकती है।
इसलिए सिर्फ minimum qualifying marks प्राप्त करना CBT-II call की guarantee नहीं है। Candidate को required merit/shortlisting range में भी आना होगा।
जो candidates reservation benefits के आधार पर CBT-II के लिए shortlist होते हैं, उन्हें आगे के recruitment stages में उसी संबंधित community/category के against consider किया जाता है।
Stage 2: RRB JE CBT-II
CBT-II RRB JE Selection Process का मुख्य merit-deciding written stage है।

CBT-II में Technical Abilities सहित सभी topics की branch-wise जानकारी के लिए RRB JE Syllabus देखें।
CBT-II में कुल 150 questions और 150 marks होते हैं। इनमें Technical Abilities के 100 questions होते हैं, इसलिए technical section इस stage का सबसे बड़ा हिस्सा है।
CBT-II में भी प्रत्येक गलत answer पर 1/3 negative marking लागू है।
RRB JE Minimum Qualifying Marks
CBT-I और CBT-II दोनों में category-wise minimum eligibility percentage prescribed है।

यह percentage Ex-Servicemen candidates पर भी उनकी respective community के अनुसार लागू होती है। Reserved PwBD vacancies के लिए पर्याप्त PwBD candidates उपलब्ध नहीं होने की स्थिति में prescribed qualifying marks में 2 marks तक relaxation दी जा सकती है।
यहाँ qualifying marks और actual Cut Off अलग हैं। Previous/current stage की category-wise competitive threshold समझने के लिए RRB JE Cut Off देखें। Qualifying percentage basic eligibility threshold है, जबकि अगले stage की shortlisting merit और available vacancies पर निर्भर करती है।
कौन-से Stage के Marks Final Merit में Count होंगे?

CBT-I का normalized score CBT-II shortlisting के लिए use होता है। CBT-II के actual/normalized marks आगे merit और DV shortlisting में relevant होते हैं।
RRB JE Normalization कैसे होगी?
यदि CBT same syllabus के साथ multiple sessions में आयोजित होती है, तो different sessions के raw marks को normalized marks में convert किया जाता है।
Single-session examination में actual/raw marks use होते हैं। Multi-session examination में normalized marks merit calculation के लिए लिए जाते हैं। Notification CBT-I और CBT-II दोनों की shortlisting/merit process में normalization का provision देता है।
इसलिए multiple shifts में केवल raw marks देखकर final merit position तय नहीं की जा सकती।
RRB JE Merit Index क्या है?
RRB JE recruitment में candidates अलग-अलग Engineering disciplines और Exam Groups से आते हैं। कुछ posts के लिए अलग Exam Groups के candidates eligible हो सकते हैं।
ऐसी स्थिति में common merit तैयार करने के लिए Merit Index का उपयोग किया जाता है। Single-session papers में actual marks और multi-session papers में normalized marks इसके calculation का आधार होते हैं।
Merit Index के आधार पर different disciplines/Exam Groups के eligible candidates की combined merit list descending order में तैयार की जाती है और preference allotment इसी merit के आधार पर होता है।
इसका मतलब है कि केवल CBT-II qualify करना पर्याप्त नहीं है; candidate की merit position भी selection में महत्वपूर्ण है।
Document Verification के लिए Shortlisting
CBT-II के बाद Document Verification यानी DV के लिए candidates को CBT-II marks, merit और options के आधार पर shortlist किया जाता है।
Official notification के अनुसार DV के लिए shortlisted candidates की संख्या vacancies के बराबर होगी। यानी सामान्य रूप से DV shortlisting 1:1 रहती है।
इसलिए CBT-II qualifying marks प्राप्त करना अपने-आप DV call की guarantee नहीं है।
Stage 3: RRB JE Document Verification
DV में candidate द्वारा online application में दी गई qualification, category और other eligibility claims को original documents से verify किया जाता है।
Official CEN के अनुसार shortlisted candidates को original documents के साथ दो sets self-attested photocopies जमा करनी होती हैं।

Document Verification में qualification, age और category eligibility verify की जाती है। इन conditions को detail में समझने के लिए RRB JE Eligibility देखें।
Certificates Hindi या English में होने चाहिए। दूसरी language में certificate होने पर self-attested Hindi/English translated version देना होगा।
Educational qualification certificate की issue/result date भी important है। जरूरत पड़ने पर consolidated marksheet, semester/year-wise marksheets या result-declaration certificate देना पड़ सकता है।
ऊपर दी गई table सामान्य DV requirements का summary है। Candidate की category और individual case के अनुसार additional documents लागू हो सकते हैं, इसलिए final DV notice और e-call letter जरूर check करें।
Stage 4: RRB JE Medical Examination
Document Verification के बाद candidate को applicable post के लिए prescribed Railway Medical Standard पूरा करना होता है।
Notification में A-3, B-1 और C-1 medical standards दिए गए हैं। Exact medical standard candidate के opted post पर निर्भर करेगा।

ये medical standards notification में indicative and not exhaustive बताए गए हैं। Exact medical eligibility के लिए applicable post और Indian Railway Medical Manual के rules check करना चाहिए।
LASIK Surgery का Rule
A-3 medical standard वाले posts के लिए LASIK या refractive-error correction surgery वाले candidates eligible नहीं हैं।
B-1 standard में LASIK candidate specified conditions पूरी करने पर eligible हो सकता है। Notification में LASIK surgery duration, corneal thickness, visual acuity और eye-health conditions का provision दिया गया है।
यदि candidate prescribed medical standard pass नहीं करता, तो उसे उस post के empanelment के लिए consider नहीं किया जाएगा और alternate appointment नहीं दिया जाएगा। Initial medical examination fail होने पर laid-down conditions के तहत एक final Medical Appeal opportunity मिल सकती है।
RRB JE में Interview, PET/PST या Skill Test होगा?
Current CEN No. 04/2026 की official recruitment stages में केवल CBT-I, CBT-II, Document Verification और Medical Examination listed हैं।
अलग Interview, PET/PST या Typing/Skill Test stage current selection scheme में शामिल नहीं है।
Future recruitment cycle में process बदलने की स्थिति में latest applicable CEN या corrigendum follow करना चाहिए।
Post-wise Selection Process में क्या अंतर है?
Overall selection flow JE और DMS posts के लिए common है, लेकिन CBT-II में Technical Abilities Exam Group educational qualification और engineering discipline के अनुसार बदल सकता है।
Notification Mechanical & Allied, Electrical & Allied, Electronics & Allied तथा Civil & Allied Engineering Exam Groups की mapping देता है। DMS candidates के लिए भी applicable Exam Group चुनने का provision है।
इसलिए recruitment stages common हैं, लेकिन technical examination content candidate के Exam Group के अनुसार अलग हो सकता है।
Marks समान होने पर Merit कैसे तय होगी?
यदि दो या उससे अधिक candidates equal marks प्राप्त करते हैं, तो पहले older candidate को higher merit position दी जाती है।
यदि age भी समान हो, तो candidate के Given Name के alphabetical order A से Z के आधार पर tie break किया जाता है।
RRB JE Merit और Empanelment कैसे तय होगा?
CBT-I screening stage है, इसलिए इसके marks final selection merit का direct basis नहीं बनते।
CBT-II selection का मुख्य merit stage है। Single-session examination में actual marks और multi-session examination में normalized marks relevant होते हैं। Different Exam Groups की combined merit के लिए Merit Index use किया जा सकता है।
इसके बाद CBT-II marks/merit और candidate options के आधार पर DV shortlisting होती है। Successful DV और prescribed Medical Examination के बाद candidate empanelment के लिए considered होता है।
Railway Zone/Production Unit allotment candidate के options, merit, medical standard और vacancy position पर निर्भर करता है।
Empanelment और Appointment में क्या अंतर है?
RRB द्वारा empanelled होना automatic appointment नहीं है।
RRBs empanelled candidates के नाम संबंधित Railway Administrations को recommend करती हैं। Actual Offer of Appointment संबंधित Railway Administration जारी करती है।
Appointment prescribed Medical Fitness, certificates की final verification और antecedents/character verification जैसी applicable conditions के अधीन रहती है।
RRB JE Selection Process और Exam Pattern में अंतर
Selection Process पूरी recruitment journey बताता है—CBT-I, CBT-II, DV, Medical और empanelment तक।
Exam Pattern केवल written examination की structure बताता है, जैसे subjects, questions, marks, duration और negative marking।
